Admissions: How to make a referral to Royal Oaks Hospital
- For initial intake assessment, call Royal Oaks admissions staff at 1-800-456-2634.
- Initial calls are broken into two parts: First, we will ask several questions regarding admitting criteria, patient medical history and current circumstances. (It’s important that we speak to the person’s legal guardian.) Second, a call will be returned by the admissions counselor once the admitting psychiatrist has reviewed the information and determined if an admission is warranted.
- Depending on pre-authorization requirements, our admissions staff will contact you as soon as possible (generally within 45 minutes to an hour) to advise you of admission status.
- Case managers or clinical staff will make initial contact within one business day after of admission. (Any special requests need to be made at this time.)
- Case managers will be the liaison between you and the treatment team. (If you want to speak with the therapists or doctors, please make your request known for scheduling).
- Case managers will keep you updated on the progress of your client/family member at least once a week or following changes during the treatment process. You are welcome and encouraged to call the case managers as often as needed to check on the patient’s status.
- Discharge summaries are available upon request.
- Transportation may be obtained for clients to and from Royal Oaks Hospital as availability allows.
As always, our community relations staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help aid in ensuring your needs as a referral or family member are being met. To contact the director of community relations, please call 1-660-647-9921 Ex: 208.
