Admissions: What to expect from the admissions process

Royal Oaks Hospital Program components are very flexible, and as an individual’s progress changes, transition may be made from one level of care to the next. Most individuals will first complete a multi-structured assessment phase that includes:

• medical examination
• laboratory work
• psychiatric evaluation
• psychological testing
• psycho-social history and evaluation

Using the data gathered, the treatment team develops and implements an individualized treatment plan to specifically address the patient’s needs. Whenever possible, family participation is strongly encouraged, and we have family education programs available weekly at the hospital.
